golf - Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a "Major" end quite like this U.S. Open did. We started the day with Sam Burns in the lead, with I believe J.J. Spaun tied(?) for second with Adam Scott.
Spaun went on to bogey 5 of the first 6 holes. I assumed he was done.
Meanwhile, the weather was horrid (for the second day in a row). So, pretty much *everyone* was losing strokes! At first, Burns was holding up OK, and was still under par (for much of the day, he was the only one!!)
Then there was a very long play suspension, due to rain (and potential lightning) - long enough, that I turned the golf on, and I think got through most of a movie on LMN!
When play resumed, even Burns started choking, as did Adam Scott. It was definitely looking like *no one* would end up under par by the end of this thing!
Then the most amazing thing happened! - Spaun, who had fallen down the leaderboard, somehow pulled it together on the back 9. The dude even managed to birdie the last two holes, including an amazing 40-ft long putt on the 18th hole (the longest putt made the entire last day!).
    And Burns continued to choke!
In the end, J.J. Spaun ended up being the only one to finish under par (at -1, which was still +2 for the day for him overall!), and so he won the US Open in a shocker! (Burns and Scott fell down the leaderboard so badly that they ended T7 and T12. Robert MacIntyre surged into solo second place, with Victor Hovland holding on to third.)
soaps: GH - Fri's ep. In a move I didn't see coming, (Nu)Drew goes to Martin Gray (thank Gawd! Michael E. Knight is back - I wonder if he took a few months off to do off-Broadway or something...) and appears to be willing to leave Willow if it will allow Willow to see her kids. (Willow was not in this episode.) Tracy Q. goes to Alexis to try to convince Alexis to sue for custody of Drew's daughter, but Alexis wants nothing to do with it. Natalia (Booby Vista) is summoned by Marco for legal advice about her recent DUI arrest, and then meets with Sonny who wants to send Natalia out of town (permanently!) to duck the whole issue. Maxie (Zenon!) tries to mediate between Brook Lynn and NuNuLulu, but it's not going well. And Anna is forced to mediate between Chase and Dante, as Dante continues to act like a total jerk.
The Boy Who Vanished (Lifetime) - The vibe from this 2025 flick from second #1 was "unsettled/unsettling" (incl. the background music), so you know that nothing good is happening here.
At the beginning a "teenage boy" (Aiden Howard) appears claiming to have been kidnapped 12 years before. The parents (Tegan Moss and Matthew Kevin Anderson - fun fact: he's Jewel Staite's IRL ex-husband!!) of a boy kidnapped 12 years before show up, and while the dad isn't sure he's the missing boy, the mom (Moss) is 100% sure it's him. (Later, her recovering addict brother doesn't think the teen is the missing boy either, so they want you to think that he's a faker.)
Meanwhile, all this weird stuff starts happening, with an apparent vagrant woman harassing the dad, and this weird menacing dude (Jesse Moss, Tegan's IRL brother!) lurking around. It takes a while, but it becomes clear that the teen is tied up with the weird menacing dude.
Anyway, I wasn't sure where this was going, but it was off-putting enough that it wasn't really enjoyable getting there.
