The first two episodes of season 4 of 'Snowpiercer'.  I recorded the last season of the show last year but am only now getting around to watching it.  The man who inspired the creation of The Avengers by dying is now an admiral in charge of some spec ops soldiers breathing black smoke in sealed suits.  They kidnap Our Hero's daughter and kill his wife after hijacking Snowpiercer so some captive scientists can use it to create more warm spots on the planet.  Their violent methods of asking for help would seem to indicate dark secrets.
