What gives is even more points is that this deputy mayor was the one in
charge of the police and fire departments, which is one of the reasons
no one had any idea who was in charge during the January fires. With
Karen Bass at a cocktail party in Africa and this deputy mayor suspended
and under house arrest, the city was stumbling around like a headless
chicken.
