Another trailer for the "final" Downton Abbey movie.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale Trailer: Time to Say Goodbye ------------------------------------------------------------ Focus
Features has unveiled the official Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale
trailer for the upcoming period drama, which serves as the final
installment to the film franchise based on Julian Fellowes' acclaimed TV show. The movie is slated to make its debut in theaters
on September 12, 2025.
"The film follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter
the 1930s," reads the official synopsis. "When Mary finds herself at
the center of a public scandal and the family faces financial
trouble, the entire household grapples with the threat of social
disgrace. The Crawleys must embrace change as the staff prepares for
a new chapter with the next generation leading Downton Abbey into
the future."

What happens in the Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale trailer? The
video features Michelle Dockery's Mary as she finally takes over the
family's titular estate. However, her leadership will immediately be
put to test when she gets ridiculed for being a divorced woman,
confirming the fate of Mary and Matthew Crawley's relationship.
The final installment will also include returning cast members Hugh
Bonneville as Robert Crawley, Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley,
Laura Carmichael as Edith, Jim Carter as Carson, Phyllis Logan as
Elsie, Robert James-Collier as Thomas, Joanne Froggatt as Anna,
Allen Leech as Tom, Penelope Wilton as Isobel, Lesley Nicol as
Beryl, Michael Fox as Andy, Raquel Cassidy as Phyllis, Brendan Coyle
as John Bates, Kevin Doyle as Joseph Moseley, Harry Hadden-Paton as
Bertie, Sophie McShera as Daisy, and Douglas Reith as Dickie, with
Paul Giamatti and Dominic West reprising their respective roles as
Cora Grantham's brother Harold Levinson from Seasons 3 and 4 and Guy
Dexter from the 2022 movie.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Simon Curtis from a screenplay written by Fellowes. The next installment will also introduce new cast members Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan. The sequel is also expected to include a "meaningful" tribute to the late Maggie Smith. It is produced by Fellowes, Gareth
Neame, and Liz Trubridge, with Nigel Marchant executive producing.
It is a production of Carnival Films, with Focus Features and
Universal Pictures International distributing.
