You know, he really isn't. I've read some of his writing opposing gay
marriage, and none of it opposed gay *people*.
In debate, if you don't have a counter argument to make, isn't it easier
for you to assign an outrageous label to your opponent to distract the
audience than to prepare a reasonable argument of your own?
