Starting to get back into the swing of normal summer (work) life. Yesterday, I ran errands, and watched:
soaps: GH - I think last Fri's ep. Brook Lynn is jealous when she spies a friendly moment between Gio and NuNuLulu. Dante makes an overture to Gio - I was disappointed when Gio didn't bounce Dante out on his ass. Alexis goes to Lizzie when she finds out that Lizzie knows that Kristina was responsible for the car accident. Natalia (Booby Vista) tells Marco that she's leaving town, and Marco warns her that Sonny is leading her on and is going to kill her (I really hope that happens - it would be an unexpected plot development). Cody continues working to seduce Ava, who is getting paranoid about Ric's interest in Lizzie. Ric refuses to take Martin Gray on as a client, and the hospital informs him that his medical insurance has lapsed!
Y&R - Catching up an episodes I missed (from about 2 weeks ago?...). These mostly concerned the revelation that "Aristotle Dumas" is in fact the returned Cane Ashby (recast with DOOL's Billy Flynn - sidenote: what's weird about this is that Cane's original portrayer, Daniel Goddard, has a very infrequent recurring role on GH right now, so Goddard must have turned down coming back to Y&R), which blindsides esp. Lily.
I watched the first(?) two-and-a-half episodes of "High Potential" with Kaitlin Olson - I fell asleep during the third episode, and threw in the towel then and went to bed... Anyway, this show isn't breaking any new ground - it's in the "genius observationist mystery solver" sub-genre - though I found especially the pilot to be much more "up with people!1!" than, say, "The Mentalist" - for these kinds of shows I prefer the dark or snarky cynicism of shows like "The Mentalist" or "Psych" to a 'girl power' version of this like "High Potential"... Anyway, this is watchable (the show has a continuing "meta" storyline concerning the mystery of Olson's character's missing first husband(?)) - the supporting cast is good - though I doubt I'm going out of my way to watch it.
