New from Amazon, we have John Sena and Idris Elba headlining an
action-comedy. Sena plays new American President Will Derringer while
Elba is the Prime Minister of the UK. President Derringer is a
Schwartzenegger-style movie star renowned for his action movies and Elba
doesn't much like him but circumstances - the shooting down of Air Force
One over Belarus - force them to work together and to try to save NATO.
There's also a romantic subplot between the Prime Minister and a woman
from his past.
I won't spoil any more of the plot. Suffice it to say that there's lot
of shootin' and killin' to keep us engaged and a fair number of puns.
It's not going to win any awards for realism but I enjoyed myself and I
think you will too.
IMDB gives it 6.5 but I think it deserves higher.
Ob Veeus just wrote to Robin and me recommending it. I’ve said elsewhere, I
fell asleep during a different show and woke up in the middle of heads of
state as the plane crashed, and they met the cute girl in the jungle and
had no idea what the hell was going on, but added it to my watchlist!
It will make more sense if you watch it from the beginning. ;-)
I started it up in the middle of the night and saw it from the beginning
through the plane crash before falling asleep.
Today I’m dealing with the fact that the DMV destroyed the records of the
citizenship of hundreds of thousands of Arizona and unless we can prove
we’re citizens again we won’t be allowed to vote anymore.
I am not making that up
Got a link to a news report on that?

This one is about the previous letter where they told 83,000 people they
had had their identity stolen

Thank you. I read both and I can smell the fishyness of it hundreds of
miles away. The problem was "discovered" nine months ago but they are
only NOW telling people about it? And it is something like one system
broke, breaking another system and possibly a third system? If that is
even close to the reality this is FUBAR'd to the nth power.
And nobody has backups of any of their files apparently. And why is the DMV
safeguarding my citizenship status in the first place? And how come I’ll
still be allowed to vote in federal elections just not local? And without
proof of citizenship, can I even flee to Canadia?
Backups: Well, they might have but they waited over six months before
even telling anyone so the backups may have been overwritten. Assuming,
of course, that they didn't penny pinch into oblivion a records backup
system....
DMV: Because most states made the RealID verification part of the DMV's
responsibility. That's where I had to go to get mine in California.
I might mention we didn’t even get real ID until about six weeks ago.
Before then we had something you could pay $25 for but it wasn’t federally
compliant and really didn’t do anything except raise money for the DMV.
So Arizona decided none of its residents were allowed to fly?
Fed Elections: Because this whole pile of fecal matter is intended to
prevent "illegals" from voting.
Probably the exact opposite. We tend to emulate California in these things.
NO STATE allows non-citizens to vote in Federal elections and the number
of instances of it happening are generally in the single digits in any
given election.
How would you know? In California it's specifically illegal to find out.
