The couple of changes of the vicar hasn't helped, and they obviously
ran out of sensible ideas a while back - there are only six books (plus
a prequel book), so they had to start making up their own stories.

Geordie's son is now gay, 'cuz that was a thing. He's been putting on
dresses to imitate flamboyant television comedians of that era, a first
sign of being gay it seems. This is in addition to Leonard being gay,
although now he's a nasty drunk.

as star Robson Green thanks everyone who's gone
   on this 'incredible journey'

I stopped watching a couple of seasons back but resumed with the end of
the last season and the start of the current season. I actually prefer
the new vicar to the previous one whose backstory was so absurdly over
the top it hurt the character.

It's less awful than it had been when I stopped watching, but this is
dreadful television.

Robson Green is one of the best actors out there. I've liked him ever
since he played D.I. Creegan in Touching Evil. He's largely the reason
to watch Grantchester, but the show gives him too little to do.

. . . and he's the star.
