Divisive SyFy Series Gets Season 3 Update That Will Keep Fans' Excitement

Only qualified individuals like astronauts are allowed to go into space. If
you're rich, like Katy Perry, Gayle King and Jeff Bezos' new wife Lauren
Sánchez, you can be launched up there unnecessarily, apparently. However,
that's not the case for many people, so they watch science fiction
productions with spacecraft and spaceships, like the Star Trek and Star
Wars franchises, and now SyFy's The Ark. The series premiered on February
1, 2023, and produced 24 episodes through two seasons, with a third set to
release in 2026. News of the renewal was like music to fans of the SyFy
show's ears; they'd been waiting for updates and finally got one from
co-showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Glassner.
Without spoiling anything or giving too many details about what the series'
viewers can expect from Season 3, a simple and straightforward image was
posted on the show's official Instagram. The post, which also appeared on
Glassner's page as a collab, was a photo of a clapperboard that lists
Sandra Mitrović as the director. The caption reads, "Day 1 of season 3,
wrapped! - @jonglassner." What better way to update fans that Season 3 is
officially in production than revealing that day one has officially
wrapped? Sometimes it takes a while for production on a new season to begin
when a show has been renewed, so it's refreshing for fans to see that The
Ark is one step closer to giving them a new season.
On June 24, the official SyFy X (formerly Twitter) account posted a
forty-three-second teaser featuring the show's stars Reece Ritchie and
Christie Burke with the caption, "Reporting all the way from space...
#TheArk is back in production." Both stars are walking together on set,
speaking directly into the camera.
"Okay everybody, we have some exceptionally exciting news. All the way from
space...today is the first day on set, shooting season three of a show
called, The Ark! We're going to take you all the way on set with us. And
we're going to do a little turnaround to show you guys we're back on the
bridge!"
According to IMDb, The Ark "follows the remaining crew of a spacecraft
known as Ark One, who must become the best versions of themselves to stay
on course and survive after experiencing a catastrophic event that caused
massive destruction and loss of life." It takes place a hundred years in
the future. The SyFy series is bolstered by a cast that often elevates the,
at times, divisive storyline.
The Ark revolves around Lt. Sharon Garnet (Burke), who becomes the de facto
captain of an interstellar spacecraft after a disaster. Ritchie plays Lt.
Spencer Lane, a high-ranking remaining member (one of three) of the crew

who has suspicions about Garnet's ability to lead. The series also stars
Richard Fleeshman as Lt. James Brice, Stacey Read as Alicia Nevins, Ryan
Adams as Angus Medford, Pavle Jerinić as Felix Strickland, Christina Wolfe
as Dr. Catrina "Cat" Brandice,
Again, not anymore.

and many more who return as recurring
characters. While it only has a 50% Rotten Tomatoes score, its audience has
kept the series moving forward.
