I watched two movies. The first was My Little Pony: The Friendship
Trail. It was okay, but not great. The Mane Six are invited to a town
where everything is grayscale, and the residents learn to express
themselves in order to recover their colors. It's one of the ones aimed
firmly at children, so it was a little meh despite being well done.
The other was What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Tubi suggested this after
the ponies for some reason, and I said sure. I've seen it before, but I
found it just as gripping this time as the first time. Two sisters, one
a former child vaudeville star and one a former early film star who's
now paraplegic, live together in a twisted, toxic relationship.
It is really an excellent movie if you like psychological horror, and a
good one even if you don't. With no overt gore or cheap scares, it takes
"creepy" to a new level.
The first time I saw it, I was not expecting the twist at the end. Bette
Davis invented an all-new movie genre.
The first season of Feud was about, in part, the making of this movie.
Jessica Lange was terrific as Joan Crawford, daring to show an aging
actress that Crawford covered up in public.
