Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) returns home to Chicago to build her
own armored suit and becomes entangled with Parker Robbins/The Hood
(Anthony Ramos) after the events in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".
The six-episode series also stars Alden Ehrenreich and Lyric Ross, while
guest stars include Sacha Baron Cohen and Jim Rash. Three episodes
stream today and the remaining three stream next Tuesday, July 1.

I suppose I'll get around to watching this at some point, but none of
the comments in this newsgroup are making me rush to do so.

So what went wrong with it? Did the character suck in the comics or
did the writers of the show head off in a different direction that
didn't work for the viewers. I know the character was never that
popular in the comics so that wasn't a good basis for a show.
That said I'll have to at least sample it as it's in my wheelhouse
(superhero Genre, Marvel).

It has nothing to do with the comic (which I liked) beyond a few character names. They had actually pretty much appropriated the comic storyline for
the Spider-Man movie where he has the iron spider suit with the AI in it.
So instead, they came up with nothing but despicable people doing
despicable things, and finding despicable ends.

Hmm, I get the writer probably thought they had something unique to
say but how did anyone else think this was a good idea?
"Will it make money?"
"No, no - this definitely won't make money."
"Green light it!!!1!11!!"
Rinse. Repeat.
