California Lawmakers Pass Amendments to Film & TV Tax Credit Program;
Newsom Signs Bill Update (July 3)
I'm not much of a fan of giving private companies tax money but something
needs to be done. I had no idea how barren Hollywood has become. It's
basically just the corporate headquarters of the movie studios now. Hardly any
actual movies are being made here anymore. The big soundstages on the Warner
and Fox lots are sitting mostly empty now.
They say it was the one-two punch of Wuhan Flu and the strike but production
has completely fled from California. Thinking about it, pretty much the only
show or movie I can think of that features L.A. lately is COUNTDOWN and
BALLARD on the Primes.
