 Brilliant! Bass has just incentivized a whole lot of people to stay home
 and live off handouts. All they have to do is claim that they're worried
 that they might be picked up by ICE at work (or on the way to or from
 work) so they need to stay home. Will these people even be vetted to
 determine if they are illegal? Somehow, I doubt it since that would be
 painted as racist or something: "you have to believe all claimants" just
 like we were supposed to "believe all women". What stops people who are
 not illegal from claiming that they are worried about being picked up by
 ICE so they are staying home too?

 Why should I keep paying for my own health care insurance?
 
 Since there's no way to document illegal alien status [they're called
 'undocumented' for a reason by the PC crowd; indeed, it's deemed to be
 'racist' to even inquire into legal status and healthcare providers are
 prohibited by law from doing so], why couldn't I just go to a hospital (or
to
 MediCal) and just say I'm an illegal and ditch my health insurance, saving
me
 thousands/year?
 
 Same for Newsom's "0 down, 0%" home-buying program for illegals: how would
 they know if I showed up and asked for my interest free home loan, whether
I'm
 an illegal or not? By definition, illegals don't have documentation of their
 identity, status, or nationality, so what's to stop American citizens from
 taking  advantage of all the free shit they're throwing at illegals?
 

If the healthcare providers don't check this - and it sounds like they
are legally prohibited from doing so - then I have to believe that some
opportunists are already pretending to be illegals just to save on
health expenses. It can't be that hard to fake a foreign accent and
insist you are undocumented....
 
If you wanted to go down that path, just pretend to be Canadian. Most
Americans can't tell an American from a Canadian by their accent so you
won't have to change the way you say anything unless you have a
distinctly American accent, like New York, Chicago or Deep South.

I'll just walk in munching on some poutine and throwing in an 'eh' every other
sentence. Maybe on the way out, ask for directions to the nearest Tim
Hortons.

In fact, it might be brilliant strategy if EVERYONE pretends to be
undocumented to get free health care. It would soon put pressure on
Newsom and his supporters to set some boundaries on who can make these
health claims.
 

 I predict it won't be more than a year or two before we see a bill
introduced
 into the state legislature to make it a crime to impersonate an illegal
alien
 or a vagrant for the purpose of acquiring all the benefits, freebies,
 handouts, and legal immunity from prosecution that they're afforded.
 

I don't see how they can do that without also providing some way to
definitively prove that some is or is not undocumented.
 

 As an aside, I saw an amusing bumper sticker on the way to dinner last

 She's latched onto the whole anti-ICE thing like a pitbull on a 2-year-old.
 She seems to think it's her path to reelection after the whole fire debacle.
 She may be right, given the constituency that actually makes up a
significant
 percentage of the L.A. electorate.
 
 Just watch how animated and full of fire and energy she is when she's on
 camera complaining about ICE and sticking up for illegal alien lawbreakers,
 and then compare it to the energy she displayed during and immediately after
 the fires, where she mostly sat silently and morosely in the background of
 press conferences and gave 'no comments' whenever she couldn't duck the
media
 entirely.
 
 If only Bass could find the same vigor and vim for American citizens that
she
 shows for illegal aliens.
 

How is it that the voters don't make that same connection? You can't be
the only astute observer in California!
