"Too Serious and Intellectual"?

John Lennon defended his and Yoko's bed-ins once by saying that other
forms of protest were "too serious and intellectual."  WTF?  Rallies and
marches are "serious and intellectual"?
In the 80s, Yoko dismissed the bed-ins as "just clowning."  So she
wasn't serious about peace in the first place?
Actually, I believe she was not.  The *causes* Yoko championed were just
pretensea.  All Yoko really wanted was attention.  Poor John just went
along with it all, unaware that he had been sucked into Yoko's
narcissistic orbit.
