This is better than "Don't Let GO?"  SHOCKING!

This song wound up in the repertoire of several UK groups of the time
which you probably like such as Gerry & The Pacemakers, Bern Elliott &
Fenmen, Brian Poole & Tremeloes

There are lots of things in the repertoire of artists that I like that
are terrible by those artists. For instance, "Old Shep" by Elvis and
"Only You" by Carl Perkins. Imagine leaving "All Mama's Children" off of
the Dance Album in favor of "Only You," a song that Phillips would have
to pay royalties on. Phillips published "All Mama's Children" himself,
so why use "Only You?"
We're on the same page here!
You're absolutely right about "Old Shep" and about the "missing" "All
Mama's Children" on the original Perkins "Dance Album" on Sun (tho it is
reinstated on the much later Charly reissue and I believe it features on
*some* copies of the later US "Teen Beat" reissue).
I too never understood why the truly dire "Only You" took precedence
over "All Mama's.." for inclusion on the album

14. Blue Moon Bobby Vinton – 1963

WTF, this is dire as hell. And I had no idea that you liked that movie.
You must really love it to even like this putrid thing.
>
I thought you liked his "Roses Are Red"? Now the word "putrid" was
coined especially for that one. OTOH Vinton does better with his "Blue
Moon" (tho there are several better versions out there of course). But
it opens the movie I mentioned perfectly.

And since I'm a HUGE all-era horror movie fan why in the world would I
not like that movie?
>
I know nothing about that movie, certainly did not know it was horror.
Tho it's horror it also has some good comedy in it. And the music is
pretty good in it too with a selection of decent "moon" orientated songs
like Creedence's "Bad Moon Rising" (one of the VERY BEST of the more
modern songs. Even I like this one!! 😊)
It also features things like Van Morrison's "Moondance" as well as other
versions of "Blue Moon" (The Marcels of course and Sam Cooke)

Sorry, pal, but we are worlds apart on Epic. My list will have lots of
post 1963 stuff, but we even disagree on the 1963 and back stuff. Let's
see what I have.

Here are the items on Epic from my all time top 1025.

343 ¦ Glad All Over ¦ Dave Clark 5 - 63

Mind numbing crash bang wallop stuff that would NEVER get near a
turntable (or a YT clip) of mine
Diane loves them too!
I can't think of a single thing by them that I like even a little bit

844 ¦ Sunshine Superman ¦ Donovan - 66

Tenth rate Dylan wannabe

I like my favorite Donovan record much more than I like my favorite
Dylan record. This one was not on Epic though.

I very much dislike his music but I do know his recording history. He
was pretty much signed up with Pye Records over here throughout but I
remember his stuff appearing on Hickory at first in the US (and "Catch
The Wind" was his debut single here too) but his US distribution
switched to Epic in 1967
