Appropriating some left-wing populist ideas and making them meaner has been a right-wing thing for a while.
But though Trump tries to be everything to everyone, at least he has a brand, a coherent message of a sort.
Lately the Dems have just been a rather generic centrist party whose message such as it is, is that we'll be business-as-usual, keep the cash and money flowing overseas, keep a bunch of Trumps policies, but at least not be him. It's insufficient.
Anyway, maybe there should have been a primary.....
