 Fundamental tribalism. Genetic competition.
 And racism isn't always driven by fear.

Some people do want to feel superior to some other people, and deciding the being white makes you superior to people who are black or yellow satisfies this particular desire. It doesn't make a lot of sense to think that way, but it can satisfy a craving.
