 WWV used to be located in Greenbelt MD. But their neighbor,
NASA-GSFC got tired of the 5, 10, 15MHZ, etc. being on every
scope. WWV got moved to the wilds outside of Ft. Collins CO.

But WWV were transmitting at quite a high RF power. Labs can be Faraday screened if you are working on sensitive RF stuff.
VLA is next door to White Sands Missile Base but they are quite good about avoiding the frequencies used for radio astronomy.
The biggest source of interference on site were reflections of distant cities off the underside of passing aircraft. Interference bursts went down after 9/11 and during Covid when there were hardly any flights.
