- Ta Da!.... Iran introduces her first "aircraft carrier" ...
https://i.postimg.cc/1tVnP3Lc/air-craft-carrier.jpgHahhahhahahahh :-))))
They've modified an old oil tanker and turned it into a miniscule "carrier" that carries only Shahed 149s and Mohajer 6 drones :) I have not seen a more ridiculous work in ages. Hehe :-)))
Last time I saw something that made me laugh like that was Iran's locally designed "submarine" on which an Iranian Navy guy was standing in salute gesture. Problem with the scene was that he was almost the size of the submarine. I mean you could perhaps load two or three guys inside that submarine if they didn't have to pass by each other in there :)
This "carrier" can carry one helicopter in addition to the drones... Hahhahhahh :-)
It can launch a few SAMs and ballistic missiles too.
The main purpose is of course to carry the recon operations farther than just areas relatively close to Iran's borders or shores. With this, they can now travel around the world carrying with them a nice set of proven effective recon and attack drones, as well as a few ballistic missiles.
About Mohajer 6 I've said in detail earlier. This Shahed 149 is one of the newest and best drones Iran has been manufacturing since 2022. It is much more advanced than its predecessors and it is named after Ghaza.
The most interesting thing about this ship, for me, is what could be inside of it. They may have indeed built remarkable defensive systems there to quickly move around missiles and SAMS and drones themselves. The drones, as is seen in the photo, can go inside the ship via an elevator at any time to keep them safe from the elements and enemy, but missiles, looks like, are only taken inside by extra machineries at the port.
So far it has joyfully been moving around inside Persian Gulf :) But it will get out of there and go around the world. It may take cargo to, like to Hezbollah and Houthis :-) Hehe :) They were talking about adopting other ways of taking stuff to Hezbollah after Syrian route was lost.
So the ship sure looks ridiculous. But it is functionally pretty good, and do not forget that the first Scud Iran built by her own design in mid 1980s was also looking very funny, but even then worked fine against short distanced targets in Saddam's Iraq, plus later received many upgrades fast, ending in things that now can launch heavy satellites to orbit and multiple warheads to other continents!
So, don't underestimate stuff like that. They'll get better and better pretty fast. So after laughing about it today for a minute or so, I realized it had indeed made my day :)
