- Houthis shot down an American F18 super hornet over Red Sea :) It happened during a major attack by American and British Navy on targets inside Yemen.
You may think tens and tens of missiles were used to destroy that fighter, but Houthis only used 8 cruise missiles and fewer than 20 drones. The fighter was shot down by a drone! ... It is not out what type of drone did that but I suspect something equivalent to Mohajer 6 that can shoot 4-6 missiles hunted that $90 M jet fighter :)
The 8 cruise missiles and the 17 drones were all that was needed to make the American carrier (Truman) run away north on Red Sea. The Nazis' attacks as you see can in these days be repelled quite cheaply, with a huge loss of money on the Nazis' side.
This made my day :) A drone (I really wished they'd say which type it was) that probably costs $30 grands to build, shot a fast $90 million dollar American jet down.
This particular incident was not the reason my day was made, but what it indicates did. It's been some time that American and British Navy have been attacking all sorts of targets in Yemen. And none of their F-18s were hit, until now! So something has changed on the Houthis side. Their defenses aren't the same as what it was when that war broke out. They've advanced.
They're not saying what the cruise missiles did to the carrier. But they sure as hell made it leave the scene of the battle. So some damage might have resulted on the carrier as well.
Houthis' Palestine-2 missiles can now hit any spot in Israel with success. Their drones alone can hunt an F18 super hornet down. This was not the picture when the war between American / British navies and Houthis began. But it is the picture now :) This is what made my day.
