The ice that's melting is mostly close to the poles, and thus to the axis of rotation. The water that results ends up distributed evenly in the oceans, and most of it thus ends up farther from the poles. A chunk of ice near the north or south pole contributes less to Earth's moment of inertia than the same mass of water in, say, the Gulf of Mexico.
So, there is a mass flow away from the spin axis, from poles to equator. There's also a slower, longer-term slowing caused by tidal effects related to the moon.

So how does kensi propose to show that this cycle at this time is
somehow non-natural?
