Same as well. I used to use AIOE before it... died. I've only recently been able to bring myself to use something else. AIOE was just so cozy.
As for the reader, yeah thunderbird, but thanks for mentioning the forks. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to look into that. I mean, I use a fork of Firefox (Librewolf and love it), so why not TB? I've messed around with Claws Mail, but that's about it.
I use ES/Thunderbird too. It's very simple to set up.
