I have read gemini://geminiprotocol.net/news/2024_08_15.gmi and I have some
comments. (I have not read the GitLab issue tracker, since my computer does
not display them. So, be aware of this as you read the below comments.)
Oops, I had forgot to comment about P38 and P39.
P39 is one of the reasons (although there are many others) why I thought that
TLS should be optional instead of mandatory.
P38 seems to be a different issue than P39 (even though the short description
makes it seem similar).
However, Gemini servers that accept client certificates should probably
document what they expect a client certificate to contain (unfortuantely
none of the ones that I had seen do this, so I don't know what to put in
the client certificate; I have asked this question and had not managed
to receive any sufficiently meaningful answers). This will not necessarily
be the same for all servers (or for all files on one server).
