What for? What exactly does it bring to the table except more
complexity in an already overcomplex language?
 

Ability to serialize structures (for example, to JASON or XML) in generic way.

I didn't read the proposals, so not totally sure about it, but from
what Herb Sutter wrote it seems that ability to de-serialize into
arbitrary structures in generic way is not there yet, at least not
directly, but they are laying a foundation.
