sig.  (Yours is too messed up for me to work out exactly what you want

It does not happen immediately; instead, the signature that the software saves gets more and more corrupted each time the software is opened.

 Pan is open source.  You may not have the skills to fix it, but doing so
is in your jurisdiction (though I may have not understood what you mean
by that).

It is written in CXX and their contribution system does not accept emailed patches.
