       Certainly "-O3" is rarely worth it unless you are also using a
"-march=" flag (such as "-fmarch=native") to tune for a particular
processor and enable stuff like vectorisation.  Getting the fastest
code is more of an art than a science!

 Typo: it's "-march=native".
