That is definitely the reason why I reject it out of hand for my work, yes.  It wouldn't matter if it generated code ten times faster than gcc using one percent of the compile time - if it doesn't support the target you need, it is useless for the job.  (Bart never seems to understand that issue.)
I can understand that there was a time when tcc could make sense as a C compiler for a C programmer.  But that time is long past, and I have yet to see a convincing reason why it should be a realistic choice now for more than a few niche uses.
