Dropping _Bool et al would have broken existing code.
 

Yes.  But they are listed as alternate spellings, rather than keywords. I don't think it makes any difference, other than that if they were called "keywords" then they would need to be mentioned more in the standards.

And we have some new ones :

 That last one is "typeof_unqual".
