Algol68 or Algol60? The former is very different.
However even Algol60, in its pure form, would be unsuitable (and also supports advanced features like higher order functions that are not relevant to systems code).
It could however be adapted. Google suggests that a special superset called ESPOL was used, with extra features to make systems programming viable.
