Looking at some old stuff on Bitsavers, it’s amusing to see descriptions
that can’t decide if they have “64K” of RAM or “65K” ...
non-blocking sockets would be in the standard, using an interface based
on fopen/fread/fwrite/fclose.
Does seem to reinforce the impression that a lot of the proposals for
filling in functional gaps in C involve including features already
available in POSIX ...
