you'd probably be hard pressed to find many people who'd even heard
of them in that context. The only reason I knew milliard is because

Or, may be, in imprecise translations of the Bible that confuse the
word רבבה that means 10000 with remotely similar word ארבעים that means
40 ?
 

No, I simply mean that the number 40 is used many times in the Bible to mean "a large number", rather than for a specific number.
