Frankly, I’m quite happy to see it relegated to a museum. There are
much better alternatives for anything you might imagine BASIC could do
nowadays.
E.g. string handling--it was OK for the pre-Perl days, nowadays you
expect a decent regular-expression capability as a matter of course.
