Why are you repeating this? Everyone knows this. It's been discussed
something like a thousand times on this newsgroup Vanguard.

I don't need to install it to check free versus paid.  I trust Fdroid
more than you.  You said OSMand (no plus sign).  You also said it's at
Fdroid.  That's OSMand+.  Sorry, I cannot address why Fdroid doesn't
carry OSMand non-plus (free) since their About page claims "F-Droid is
an installable catalogue of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software)
applications for the Android platform."  Seems contradictory that Fdroid
carries OSMand+ instead of OSMand, but you claimed the one at Fdroid was
free.  Free download does not mandate free software.  Tis disappointing
Fdroid is pushing payware, and then caveats the app with anti-features.

Every word you (and Carlos) write is about your abject fears of APKs.
And that's fine.
You're welcome to spend hours fabricating reasons for why you fear an APK.
Just don't blame me for your abject fears of something as simple as an APK.

 There is a download limit for offline maps in Google Maps?  Or in the
Here [WeGo] app?  Gee, I never got charged for all those offline maps I
stored on my SD card using those map apps.  The comment about lack of
POIs (Points of Interest) is one of the reasons my trial of OSMand (free
non-plus) ceased.  That along with them using county plats that did not
match reality since those show road proposed changes or additions that
have not yet occurred.  Plus crowdsourcing a database doesn't guarantee
accuracy.  Hmm, and I didn't have to pay for Google Maps or Here [WeGo],
either.  OpenStreetMaps (OSM), and the OSMand that accesses the OSM map
database are valiant efforts indeed, but lost in my evaluation of it,
and of alternatives all of which were free, and all of which were
available at play.google.com.

You spend hours justifying your abject fears of something as simple as an
app, which is clear by your fabrications of why you can't install that app.
Instead of spending hours justifying your fears of an app, why don't you
just download the app, test it out, and let us know how it works for you?
