Thats the whole thing : *how* ?  My friend doesn't remember anything about
his erstwhile, years old identity.

and then reset the phone in the system settings to the delivery state.
There
are dedicated functions for this.

I know where it is.  Its what caused that "attempted un-autorised reset"
message be shown.
