If I were considering moving to Linux, for the first time, it's
Stéphane's advice I'd be interested in, not yours.
My advice wouldn't be very helpful for a beginner. I would say to use
something like ubuntu or mint or something like that. For two reasons:
- a beginner distro have everything useful simply installed by default
so it's easy to use to discover Linux.
- a well spread distro has a lot of users, so if something bad happens,
someone else should have encountered it before, so it should be easier
to find help.
But you don't need my advice for that, beginner distros exist and are
well spread for a reason. A lot of people can give the same advice.
This is a group to advocate the use of Linux.
For or against. That's where DFS and LP/NV/DG/whatever are in chart.
Your posts are a disservice.
To Linux, yes, because, unlike DFS, he claims to advocate Linux when he
makes its users look like first class morons.
