Seems like there isn't much Linux advocacy going on.[*]
Very true, this place is filled with toxic political posts.
I stopped coming here because of that. I just popped in because I have
not visited here for a few years. If anything it is worse. So I will
throw this over the wall and hope these people can read and understand
what they read.
People who post political content here need to get a clue and learn how
to use USENET correctly. They need to read and understand this:
https://www.slack.net/~ant/usenet-posts.html
Especially section "Starting Discussion Threads".
<snip>
I've found the place usable again after instructing my newsreader
to ignore crossposts to certain newsgroups.
Unfortunately, there are also some Linux regulars that barf
up political posts from time to time. For those threads,
I right-click, "ignore thread", and voila, the world is
a happier place.
ObLinux: Compiled and booted Linux 6.12-rc1 yesterday evening,
but NVIDIA drivers won't compile for the new kernel. Checked
the forum, and it's a known problem -- official answer is
that 6.12-rc1 isn't a released kernel, so wait for the release
then they'll fix it.
