The Shiites, for example, aren't usually the "head choppers," that's
nearly always the Sunnis. Guess which ones the U.S. cuddles up to?

Jews in Iran, for example, are not persecuted so long as they identify
as Iranians and not Zionists (Israelis). Iran is a Shiite country.
To further complicate it, Arabs are a small minority in Iran and
frequently persecuted. Iran inherited what was called Arabistan from the
Ottoman Empire and it's been a thorn in their side. The Persians are an
Indo-European people, or what was called Aryan before some unfortunate
20th century events. They don't like Arabs, who are a Semitic people.

It's like one of those logic statements. Most Arabs are Moslems but most
Moslems aren't Arabs. The Arabs seem to be the least civilized.
I keep trying to tell people that the Iranians are not Arabs. They don't
turn on each on each like the Arabs do in time of war.
For what it's worth, my wife's best friend married an Iranian who was a
pretty nice person. Similarly, a former Polish co-worker of mine married
an Iranian man and he was wonderful to her. It should be noted that most
Iranians don't actually support their government and are a lot more
Western than they seem.
