Actually that is preferable to an ever expanding database with legacy 32-bit
stuff plus 64-bit duplicate stuff (and don't get me started on the system32
directory).

To me, it's nice to have one small config file for each "application".

(However, in my own MIDI project, I have multiple files: .rc, .usr, .drums,
.playlist, .palette, and .ctrl to handle various aspects of the
configuration.  Also Qt .qss files if desired. I would not want to lump all
this stuff into one file. But that's just me.)
