That's how you fight MS.
You think installing additional software on Linux is difficult?
Installing and maintaining Linux is much easier and more efficient than
doing so on Windows. One "standard" Windows "upgrade" proves that.

The goal of GNU/Linux/FOSS is to develop a comprehensive and
capable software environment that will allow a knowledgeable
computer user to fulfill all of his possible needs.

It has succeeded admirably.
Right. The "mainstream" likes to have a couple "standards" in
computer operating systems. GNU/Linux is for those for whom the
mainstream standards don't work.
Has RonB actually made a Windows install on new hardware this century?

Last time I noticed him mentioning his bad Windows experiences, it was a
rant about 'Clippy' (1997-2001).
Ever install Visual Studio? Takes up more time and disk space than a Linux
install.
Sure, but Visual Studio is an App, not an OS.
Granted, Clippy was part of the MS-Office App, not the OS, but MS has
had some fuzzy disembarkation lines for decades (eg, Internet Explorer).

And FWIW, I'm not saying that RonB was wrong to be complaining about
Clippy .. it was bad .. but simply that sins from a couple of decades
ago just aren't all that relevant anymore to contemporary life.
