By definition, one cannot get rid of one's groupies. You can only remove them from your sight by kill filing them but I understand you are against the concept of kill filing.
But it is good to know that you're sincere in wanting this forum be what it is made for.
It could be that you may get what you want by going back to school. Go for a masters if you don't already have it. In there, you may find projects involving teams developing something from scratch. Then you'll be among like-minded individuals.
Usenet is severely limited. The only reason I'm in it is that it doesn't have moderators. Everywhere else feels like Gestapo compared to usenet.
