I rejected "vi" because it's "modal" ( what mode am I in now ? ).

I use a _normal_ text editor, like Borland's "Turbo Pascal" & "Turbo C".
35 years ago, in 1989, Seattle, "Microsoft C" ( on Win2 ) was my
editor/IDE;
later, it was called "DevStudio", now "Visual Studio".
