wife to the races -- once. She more or less had a panic attack. Even those
are a lot quieter these days. Then there were the motorcycles, guns,
industrial noise, and so forth.

I remember on public radio they played back a performance that depended on
audio distortion products caused by high volume for the effect, which of
course could not come through on the radio.

I would skip such an event. (And generally loud concerts as well.)
