If it's too loud you're too old.
I studied hearing science (got a Ph.D in it).
When I was doing a little research about 'surround sound' recently, I was curious how your brain knows sound is coming from directly behind you.
Can you shed some light?
Related: how much sound normally passes through your ear (and I mean through the skin and cartilage of your ear tissue) from behind?  Does that help you localize the sound?
