I had to rewrite shit loads of Pascal into C because I couldn't figure out how to say 'load the 512byre sector, the first two bytes represent a 16 bit number, the next 4 bytes might be a number if the first byte was X or they might be the start of a sttring if...
The declaration of unions of structures that *might* be what te sector represented were simply so cumbersome as to be useless.
In C I simply cast the operators...
