Over 13,000 illegal immigrants convicted of homicide along with over 15,000 who have been convicted of sexual assault are roaming the United States amid the border crisis under the Biden-Harris administration.
They are currently roaming free in the US, according to a letter from Acting ICE Director Patrick Lechleitner that was sent to Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX). The letter states that over 13,000 on the national docket who have not been detained have been convicted of homicide, and over 15,000 have been convicted of sexual assault.
Key is that the "not been detained" is not detained --> by ICE <--
Because a noncitizen serving a prison sentence in state or federal criminal custody gets administratively put on ICE's "non-detained" docket, because they are not in ICE detention.
What does this mean?
It means that NewsMax is trying to get you to believe that there's ~13,000 convicted who are running around free.
That is false: they're locked up & serving time in a US prison, which is a facility that's not under ICE jurisdiction.
