I always go back to Notepad++. It has features I depend on:

Notepad++ is good, the Windows users on our programming team used it.
The Linux guys used vim or gvim.
Emacs would be good, too, but I'm too ingrained with vi.
Code::blocks (C/C++) and Bluefish (HTML/CSS/JS) are good ides for specific
languages.
