The only reason this is happening is because the FSF is in their election year for their board. This happens every time the FSF gets to the election year and all the information is a rinse and repeat of what has already been said over the last 3 or so decades. Freedom Software isn't under attack. It's just the same agenda from opposition with the year 2024 on it.That being said, I do have my own opinions about a few things. I do feel like the FSF is a little stagnant in a few areas (things I've discussed at length in the FSF forums), and I do think that there are times where Richard Stallman keeps certain innovations from happening that I (and a few others) think the FSF needs to at the very least consider. But that's just my view on it. But RS has done a real service to the tech industry through the FSF and his work along with Linus Torvalds has benefited users in ways that have changed the software industry.
But to suggest this is an attack on Freedom software is a stretch. We see this every FSF election year and it never goes anywhere. So don't get too worked up over this. Just something to be mindful of and move on.
