They make it harder and harder to avoid creating the MS account, there's still ways and means, but it's easier to install with a throwaway MS account, then create a local account, make sure you save the BitLocker encryption key which may get saved there, finally nuke the MS account from the machine.
Its like owning an android phone. You seem to need a gmail account.
I have nostalgia for the days when people spent money on developing better products, not on lockins and marketing.
