Even Win11 wouldn't be so terrible on one, but I'd of course delete
that and put Debian on.
What happened to openSuse?

Actually, I might go with openSUSE for the laptop, it wasn't as good
as Debian turned out to be for my desktop setup, but I liked it in
most ways.

Here we go, I don't care about this shit.
I do. Not only do they want you to use their GuhNoo crapware, but they
want to tell you how to behave. It's sick.
I also boycott a bunch of companies for their DEI policies and
disgusting pro-trans stances (like Target).
And if you follow the gaming world, there are multiple big battles
against woke games and game developers going on right now.
A pathetically woke online game called Concord came out 2 months ago,
and so few people played it that within a month or so Sony took it
offline and refunded everyone. Game journalists are claiming crazy
numbers like "Concord lost $400,000,000!", which is silly. But it did
lose big money - they claimed it was in development for 8 years. The
game makers made it a point to have no White male characters, but
several black female characters, including a 300lb one wearing butch
clothes.
Disney Junior has a Little Mermaid cartoon out which they play
commercials for all the time. Not one of the underwater characters is
White. This is pure racism. This is partly why I will never subscribe to
that channel even if my boy begs.
