When the fuck are people going to wake up to the China threat?
Where's chrisv been for the past decade? I can't find if I made comment here on their South China Sea border claims that they revived in 2012, citing a debunked 1960 map, but there is this from two years ago:
"...diplomacy with China has been a pretty delicate thing for decades; one can look back to the UK's departure from Hong Kong and what's transpired there since for some examples. Overall, the question with China and Taiwan is essentially a chess game where China needs to decide if they want to risk an escalation to actual military conquest, as is being influenced by today's Russia-Ukraine conflict, as well as other factors which basically revolve around optimization of the rate of change in respective military capabilities, of the same general flavor for what motivated Russia into their 'now or never' invasion of Ukraine."

They
make damn-near *everything* for us. When, NOT IF, they blockade or
overtake Taiwan, where almost all the advanced chips are being made,
we'll know a new level of shortages.

The CHIPS and Science Act is a U.S. federal statute enacted by the 117th
United States Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden on August
9, 2022. The act authorizes roughly $280 billion in new funding to boost
domestic research and manufacturing of semiconductors in the United States,
for which it appropriates $52.7 billion.[1][2][3] The act includes $39
billion in subsidies for chip manufacturing on U.S. soil along with 25%
investment tax credits for costs of manufacturing equipment, and $13
billion for semiconductor research and workforce training, with the
dual aim of strengthening American supply chain resilience and
countering China.

The Yellow Peril (also the Yellow Terror, the Yellow Menace, and the Yellow
Specter) is a racist color metaphor that depicts the peoples of East and
Southeast Asia as an existential danger to the Western world.
>
The concept of the Yellow Peril derives from a "core imagery of apes,
lesser men, primitives, children, madmen, and beings who possessed special
powers", which developed during the 19th century as Western imperialist
expansion adduced East Asians as the Yellow Peril.

And the CHIPS Act is failing already.

Seems that some folks don't really have a problem with the requirements...

Under Biden/Harris what *doesn't* fail ?
Truth doesn't fail.
